| I would like to know the pedigree of your Toy Rottweilers. Are they Carlin Pinschers? I understand it says miniature mastiff, as pug's, french bulldog's and boston terrier's are all considered to be miniature mastiff breeds I assume one is in the direct lineage? Is this an up and coming breed, or are they designer bred? Anything you could tell me about the breed, pedigree would be greatly helpful. The Toy Rottweiler is a new toy breed dog, having been in development for ten years. There may be up to a dozen breeds in their early background but the predominant breed used has always been pug, making them a miniature mastiff. Occasionally to get new lines we out-cross then breed back to the Toy Rottweiler. This is basically how most modern dog breeds are made although many designer breeds are a simple cross-mating of two dog breeds. We consider our method of breed line development to be more precise, because different characteristics were selectively introduced as needed over the years through many different kid safe, healthy dog breeds.
For the last several generations some lines have been bred simply Toy Rottweiler to Toy Rottweiler within their own breed. Our dog breeders work together and record their heritage and monitor the health and temperament of the offspring to know if there are any problems. So far we see no genetic/health defects. They are not AKC breed so sharing a pedigree would not give you a basis to making a decision on which bloodline to go with. Our breed club has its own registry to document the bloodlines. This is also the way most dog breeds are made.
| | I am considering a female puppy, Currently I have 2 spayed female frenchies. Saw you ad in the paper... can you email me pics of these pups parents? Any health issues...hips..allergies? What breed was used to downsize the rott? Thanks! The Toy Rottie has been in existence for almost ten years so they are their own breed, bred to other Toy Rottweilers for many generations. We called them Rottiebears while they were in development and have only recently announced to the dog world that we have what is the Toy Rottweiler.
They were not bred down from Rottweiler....pug is in their background. [As in the similarity that Min. Pinchers were not bred down from Doberman Pinchers]. They are their own breed.
They are excellent with children. They have no health problems. Call me if you would like to talk more. Parents to these puppies looked just like the pups.....black and tan. I can get you pics of the parents before you purchase your puppy. Did you see one you liked at www.toyrottweiler.com ?
